Tell us about your journey/story – When/why/how you got started:
Always have loved food and cooking. When I was younger I would work all week then head up to the cabin with groceries and spend all weekend cooking for friends. The thought occurred to me that instead of working all week just to get to the weekend, I could turn something I loved in to a career. I enrolled in culinary school and began my journey. After 10 years of fine dining, the opportunity came up to open a completely new concept where I would be able to invent food that would pair with great beer. What could be more fun!
Why you do what you do / What is your mission/vision statement?
Our mission is to become the best brew pub in the Northwest. We do this with good food, great beer and awesome people. We make food that is fun and have service that is warm and welcoming.
What do you love the most about what you do?
My love of food is what got me started but I have found that the teamwork aspect of running a restaurant is what keeps me charged up every day. There is always something new and challenging. Nothing is more exciting than when a group of people can all work together to pull off a seamless service and all our guests are happy. The crazier the day is, the greater sense of accomplishment you can feel at the end.
Where do you find inspiration and motivation?
I find inspiration from all the incredible foods we have here in the northwest. I get ahead of myself thinking about what will be coming soon. I love to go out to eat and see what other people are doing. There are so many creative people here in the Northwest. I like to take inspiration from other places too. When I have the opportunity to travel I always bring an idea back with me.
